A brief introduction to the history of samba dancing and an interactive practice session from its first steps into the full execution by Ms. Alysia Ramos! Ms. Ramos is currently on faculty at Oberlin College as an Assistant Professor of Dance with a specific emphasis on hybrid, intercultural and transnational movement practices. She received her MFA from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City where she also became a member of Samba Fogo, a company dedicated to sharing Brazilian culture through music in dance. She has since studied Samba and other Afro-Brazilian dances under master teacher Jorge Alabe in Rio de Janeiro. FREE.
